FIELD DAY INFO:

Hello!
We are so excited about our upcoming Field Day on Monday, May 23rd! We know it has been a while since our last Field Day so I wanted to address some FAQs!
What is Field Day?!  It is a day spent for our learners to travel to different stations throughout the day that include bounce houses, a water slide, sponge relay races, frozen treats and MORE! One of the stations is walking to the Coppell City CORE (Coppell City’s Pool) to go swimming! The CORE will have staff on hand and also has life jackets available for swimmers. If your learner is not a strong swimmer and requires a life jacket, please reach out to your homeroom teacher and we will make sure to have that available.
What will your kiddo need to wear on Field Day, May 23rd? Please have them wear a swimsuit (girls under their clothes and boys wear swimsuit bottoms) and their grade level t-shirt and flip flops/crocs or shoes that can get wet! We will have lots of WATER activities!
What do kids need to bring to field day? Please bring a water bottle as it will probably be warm! Students will also need a towel with their initials on it! Our amazing Room Parents that will be walking our classes from station to station will keep track of the towels and lunches.
What about lunch? Please pack a sack lunch for your student! We will be eating picnic style outside the school. The cafeteria will offer sack lunches that day so if you would like one for your child be sure to sign them up when the signup is sent out closer to the 23rd.
Anything else we need? Learners will be outside most of the day so please apply sunscreen on your child before school and send additional if needed! We also ask that you send a dry change of clothes they can change into when they return to school. If you can pack this in a small or cinch backpack, that would be great!
Also, we have volunteer opportunities!! I wanted to personally reach out to all our parents and let you know we will need your help if you’re available! We are looking for volunteers to help run games and activities for the different groups throughout the day.
Please use the Sign-Up Genius to sign up for a time slot. As we get closer we will be reaching out with your specific station and instructions!
As a reminder, you MUST have a background check completed to volunteer for a station or walk with your class! You can complete it through the district website ASAP. If you have issues PLEASE feel free to reach out to me directly!
I am so excited for an amazing day for our learners to wrap up this year!
Thanks from your TCE Field Day Coordinators!

Headphones: Many sets of headphones/earbuds have broken or gone missing. Please check with your child to make sure they have a working set of headphones/earbuds at school and replace if needed.

Cell Phones, iPads, Emails, and Watches

4th grade has been having some distractions about communicating with their families or friends via smart watches, cell phones, iPads or emails during the school day. It is a school policy that students are not allowed to message or respond to messages during the day on smart watches, cell phones, iPads or emails. If your child needs to get in touch with you or you need to get in touch with your child, please do that through my email or call the front office. From here on out, students will get one warning if this is continuing before being asked to keep their communication device in their backpack during the school day.

Please note that your learners SCHOOL EMAIL is to be used for academic purposes only.

New Positive Covid-19 Case Reporting Procedure

A big thank you to our families for communicating positive student Covid cases to us. In order to help streamline the communication process for both families and our campus nurse, please fill out the following Google Form if your child receives a positive Covid-19 test. The form information goes directly to our campus nurse. https://forms.gle/VUex3RUqzgtsNa716

Once our nurse has received the form from a family, she will reach out to them during school hours to discuss a return date to school and any questions they may have.

Each learner needs to have the following items each day:

1. Water Bottle

2. Snack (if your child will be buying one from the cafeteria, this needs to be done as soon as they get to school - not during class)

3. Fully charged iPad - please make sure it is charging at night by double checking the battery icon.

4. If your child brings lunch from home, we are encouraging them to bring their own silverware as the cafe supply is low.

Free Lunch:

The free lunch consists of a full meal - entree, milk / juice, fruits and veggies.  Other items, such as "seconds," chips, snacks, ice cream, and bottled water are NOT part of the free lunch program and will be charged.
