Language Arts
In Language Arts, we will begin learning about the different characteristics of folktales, fables, myths, tall tales, and legends.
Math
This week in math, We will begin learning about area and perimeter.
- solve problems related to perimeter and area of rectangles where dimensions are whole numbers.
- I can use visual supports, such as objects or pictures, to help me show and explain how to find area to solve problems.
Next week in math, we will continue with area and perimeter and we will also look at data and graphing.
Represent and interpret whole numbers (decimals and fractions can be integrated into later units) on frequency tables, dot plots, & stem-and-leaf plots.
Derive meaning from data to input into different types of tables and graphs.
Social Studies
In Social Studies this week, we will understand the effects of the Battle of the Alamo.
- Identify slow changes to Earth’s surface such as weathering, erosion and deposition from water, wind and ice.

TCE 4th graders should come to school each day with their iPad and charger. Please ensure your child charges his/her iPad each evening. Your child should also check periodically to ensure his/her iPad's software is up to date (settings --> general --> software update).
Learners will continue filling in a "Charge Bank" to keep track of their daily iPad battery charge. We hope this helps learners to become responsible for making sure their iPad is fully charged and in their backpacks each morning. Below, is the daily tracker they will fill out each morning when they arrive to school.
