Lunch Visitors

We know this is a special treat for families. Thank you for your attention to the process and details below so we can keep safety a priority with visitors coming in and out of our building.

Here are some answers to questions you might have:What is the process for visiting my child at lunch?

1. Sign-in at the officeLunch visitors will be required to sign in at the front office and receive a visitor badge that must be worn at all times. We will need to see a photo ID (either your license or passport).2. Eat lunch with your childYou will be able to eat lunch with your child in the cafeteria. There will be designated tables for lunch visitors. You may only eat with your child. No other learners may be invited to eat with you. You may purchase lunch in the cafeteria or bring a lunch for you and your child only (please, no extras for friends). 3. Sign out in the officeParents will be dismissed from the cafeteria. You will need to go back through the front office to sign out at the end of lunchtime. Parents will not be able to join their child(ren) back in the class or at recess.

Who can visit my child for lunch?

District guidelines limit lunchroom visitors at the elementary level to parents, immediate family members with written permission from a parent, and campus mentors. Immediate family members are defined as the student’s parents/step-parents, siblings, grandparents, or any person residing in the home. A parent can list the person(s) who have permission to have lunch for the entire school year.If anyone other than the parent(s) listed as guardians in our district eschool system is eating with the child, we will need written documentation of your approval.

Please make sure that you are reading the Principal Newsletter each week as it will have more information about events and important reminders that we will not have in our BLOG.  Please click the picture below and it will take you to the newsletter.

Watches and Phones
We have noticed that more and more of our students have been wearing smart watches to school, so we want to take a minute to be clear about expectations for those devices.

Students are not permitted to communicate on their personal devices during the school day. (The same rule applies for their iPads.) This includes parents. Please help us in reinforcing this expectation.  If you need to get in touch with your son/daughter during the day, please email your child's teacher or call the front office.

We have talked about these expectations with the students. We've let them know that if they are using their smart watch, cell phone, or other personal devices to communicate, they will receive one warning. After that one warning, we will ask for those devices to stay at home.
Yearbooks
Our yearbook sale is now open! Each year we have a Town Center Yearbook that highlights photos from every class, school events, and staff. It is a great item to have to look back on memories from the year, and we even have a yearbook signing party in May. If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook, please see the graphic below for the different purchasing options. As a reminder, the TCE Yearbook cost WAS NOT included in the TCE Trail Pass. If you would like a yearbook for your child(ren), you will need to purchase using the website link below.

Our yearbook committee would also love your help in submitting photos for the yearbook. As you attend campus events, if you have any photos you would like to share, see below for information on uploading them to our committee.

Dads Club

Thank you to the dads that have taken time at TCE on Fridays to volunteer. For clarification, any amount of time you can give would be great. If you only have time to be there at drop-off or for a specific time frame, we would still love for you to sign-up.

As a reminder, we are having "Dads Club on Campus Day" at TCE. This is currently scheduled for Fridays, and they are able to sign-up to spend time at TCE supporting the campus and classrooms in different ways. This may include:

  • Welcoming students to school during morning arrival
  • Helping in classrooms, the office, or PE as requested by teachers
  • Joining staff for lunchroom duty
  • Re-shelving books in the library
  • Car line dismissal and high fives to end the day

**In order for the campus to coordinate scheduling, please sign-up at least a week in advance.

If you would like to sign up to receive Dads Club Communications, you can email your contact information to Nick Walther at tceptodadsclub@gmail.com.

iPads

TCE 4th graders should come to school each day with their iPad and charger. Please ensure your child charges his/her iPad each evening. Your child should also check periodically to ensure his/her iPad's software is up to date (settings --> general --> software update).
Learners will continue filling in a "Charge Bank" to keep track of their daily iPad battery charge.  We hope this helps learners to become responsible for making sure their iPad is fully charged and in their backpacks each morning.  Below, is the daily tracker they will fill out each morning when they arrive to school.

Please remember school issued iPads are for school use only.  We do random iPad checks every few weeks. We reminded the students daily that school issued iPads are not for personal photography, books, or communicating with friends or parents via emails or chats, or watching videos on you tube that were not assigned by their teacher. It would help us out if you could reinforce this home.
