Sept. 12-16

September 13: Spring Creek BBQ Spirit Night 5-9pm
September 19: PTO Meeting 6-7pm

Language Arts:

Students continue to be active readers and pursue the idea that we will be thinking deeply and critically as we read in 4th grade.  For writing we will begin developing believable characters as we write.  We will continue spelling, with a focus on closed syllables. In Grammar we will review Nouns.

Math:

We will be working on adding and subtracting large numbers including solving multi-step story problems.

Social Studies:

We will continue to tour the regions of Texas.

Science:

This week we are learning about the 3 states of matter and their properties.

Curriculum Night:

Here is the link to the Curriculum Night presentation from Thursday evening. If you have any questions, please fill out this form.  We will compile all the questions and send out a FAQ by the end of next week.

iPads:

Each fourth grader should come to school with a fully charged iPad everyday. Please help your child form a routine of plugging this in each night. It is also a great idea to check for updates every so often. We have shown them where and how to do this, but are always here to help! If you ever need technology help or repairs, you can submit a Help Desk ticket here

Snacks:

We will have a short, working snack around 9:30 each morning as we do not have lunch until 12:30. Snacks should be mess free and not require the use of utensils. The nurse/office will not be giving snacks / water bottles so please make sure your child has one each day.  Snacks may be purchased from the cafeteria if you child has money in their account.
Due to allergies, please make sure that all in class snacks are completely peanut / tree nut free. (Peanut / tree nut products are okay for lunch.)
