Language Arts
In Language Arts, we will finish our nonfiction unit learning about text features and the structure of non-fiction books.
Math
This week in math, we will be our unit on measurement. We will focus on relative size for the week.
- Identify relative sizes of measurement units within the customary and metric system.
- Analyze a picture to find the appropriate measurement.
Next week in math, we will continue with measurement and we will focus on conversions.
- Convert measurements within the same measurement system, customary or metric, from a smaller unit.
- Solve problems involving length, intervals of time, liquid volumes, mass, and money using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, as appropriate.
Social Studies
In Social Studies this week, learners will finish learning about the new settlers and the empresarios who helped them settle the land.
- Differentiate among forms of energy, including mechanical, electrical, light, thermal, and sound.

TCE 4th graders should come to school each day with their iPad and charger. Please ensure your child charges his/her iPad each evening. Your child should also check periodically to ensure his/her iPad's software is up to date (settings --> general --> software update).
Learners will continue filling in a "Charge Bank" to keep track of their daily iPad battery charge. We hope this helps learners to become responsible for making sure their iPad is fully charged and in their backpacks each morning. Below, is the daily tracker they will fill out each morning when they arrive to school.
