  • Identify relative sizes of measurement units within the customary and metric system.
  • Analyze a picture to find the appropriate measurement.
  • Convert measurements within the same measurement system, customary or metric, from a smaller unit.
  • Solve problems involving length, intervals of time, liquid volumes, mass, and money using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, as appropriate.

Next week in mathwe will learn about area and perimeter.

  • Solve problems related to perimeter and area of rectangles where dimensions are whole numbers.
  • Use visual supports, such as objects or pictures, to help me show and explain how to find area to solve problems.

In Social Studies this week, learners will learn about the causes of the revolution.

Science:

This week in science we will explore electricity and circuits.
  • Investigate how electricity travels in a closed path, creating an electrical circuit.
  • Investigate how conductors and insulators affect an electrical circuit.
  • Investigate how switches affect the flow of electricity in an electrical circuit.

Please make sure that you are reading the Principal Newsletter each week as it will have more information about events and important reminders that we will not have in our BLOG.  Please click the picture below and it will take you to the newsletter.

iPads

TCE 4th graders should come to school each day with their iPad and charger. Please ensure your child charges his/her iPad each evening. Your child should also check periodically to ensure his/her iPad's software is up to date (settings --> general --> software update).
Learners will continue filling in a "Charge Bank" to keep track of their daily iPad battery charge.  We hope this helps learners to become responsible for making sure their iPad is fully charged and in their backpacks each morning.  Below, is the daily tracker they will fill out each morning when they arrive to school.
