  • solve problems related to perimeter and area of rectangles where dimensions are whole numbers.

  • I can use visual supports, such as objects or pictures, to help me show and explain how to find area to solve problems.

Social Studies

In Social Studies this week, we will continue to learn about the events leading up to the Battle of the Alamo.

Science:

This week in science we will finish up our unit on electricity and circuits.  We will begin exploring the concept of force including push, pull, gravity, friction, and magnetism.

Please make sure that you are reading the Principal Newsletter each week as it will have more information about events and important reminders that we will not have in our BLOG.  Please click the picture below and it will take you to the newsletter.

iPads

TCE 4th graders should come to school each day with their iPad and charger. Please ensure your child charges his/her iPad each evening. Your child should also check periodically to ensure his/her iPad's software is up to date (settings --> general --> software update).
Learners will continue filling in a "Charge Bank" to keep track of their daily iPad battery charge.  We hope this helps learners to become responsible for making sure their iPad is fully charged and in their backpacks each morning.  Below, is the daily tracker they will fill out each morning when they arrive to school.

Please remember school issued iPads are for school use only.  We do random iPad checks every few weeks. We reminded the students daily that school issued iPads are not for personal photography, books, or communicating with friends or parents via emails or chats, or watching videos on you tube that were not assigned by their teacher. It would help us out if you could reinforce this home.

Lions Club
Each year the Lions Club of Coppell provides holiday baskets and toys to families in the Coppell ISD attendance area. Last year the Lion's Club provided a special Christmas for over 130 families and hundreds of children who might otherwise have gone without.

The food baskets and toys are delivered by members of the Lions Club, and the identity of the recipients are kept confidential.  If your family would benefit from a holiday basket and toys from the Lions Club, please complete the form at the link below and return it to TCE's counselor, Kelly Matlock, by Friday, December 8th.  Email kmatlock@coppellisd.com if you would like a paper copy sent home.
