Language Arts:  Learners will continue to learn about non fiction.  We will be beginning our research on extreme weather. Raz Kids account log on information will be coming home soon!!!!!

Math: This week we will be starting our unit on division. Learners are expected to divide up to a 4 digit number by a 1 digit divisor.

Social Studies:   Learners will explain when, where, and why the Spanish established settlements and missions in Texas .

Science:  We have had so much fun exploring simple and series circuits as well as learning about conductors and insulators. Next week will will learn about and build parallel circuits!

At this time, we will not be assigning any homework. If you are looking for extra practice or resources, we would always encourage students to read at home! (Kids are more motivated to read when they are reading books they've chosen and find interesting.) In addition, students have access to online resources such as iStation, Raz Kids. For math, we would love for students to login to Dreambox or ReflexMath at home and complete lessons.

RED RIBBON WEEK:

Please make sure that all costumes are elementary school appropriate!!

Report Cards

Learners in 4th-12th grade will have their report card information available in the Home Access System (HAC) at by the end of the day Friday, October 15th. Parents and guardians who need help with a HAC password should fill out a Help Desk ticket at www.coppellisd.com/helpdesk. You can also log in using your child's login and password. Click on the "Grades" tab and the the "Report Card" tab for the 1st 9 weeks.

BOOSTER-THON FUN RUN:

We have come sooo close to meeting our goal of $15,000. We will continue to collect donations all through next week! You can donate through mybooster.com

Each learner needs to have the following items each day:

1. Water Bottle

2. Snack (if your child will be buying one from the cafeteria, this needs to be done as soon as they get to school - not during class)

3. Fully charged iPad - please make sure it is charging at night by double checking the battery icon.

4. If your child brings lunch from home, we are encouraging them to bring their own silverware as the cafe supply is low.

Free Lunch:

The free lunch consists of a full meal - entree, milk / juice, fruits and veggies.  Other items, such as "seconds," chips, snacks, ice cream, and bottled water are NOT part of the free lunch program and will be charged.
