November 8-12

November 22-26: No School - Fall Break

Language Arts:  Learners will continue researching extreme weather. We will continue to learn how reading non fiction takes different strategies and ways to understand what we read.

Math: We will be learning about the area and box models of division. We will also learn the standard algorithm.

Social Studies:   Learners will continue to learn about missions in Texas.

Science:  This week we will begin our unit on Earth's Surface.  We will focus on examining the properties of soils, including color, texture, water retention and ability to support plant growth

Each learner needs to have the following items each day:

1. Water Bottle

2. Snack (if your child will be buying one from the cafeteria, this needs to be done as soon as they get to school - not during class)

3. Fully charged iPad - please make sure it is charging at night by double checking the battery icon.

4. If your child brings lunch from home, we are encouraging them to bring their own silverware as the cafe supply is low.

Veterans Day at TCE

We are excited to acknowledge and celebrate our veterans next week. In lieu of a ceremony this year, our Cub Scouts from Pack 850 will greet our learners in the morning and several will help present on our morning announcements at 7:45 AM. Our morning announcements can be accessed using our KTEX Youtube Channel. Click here to access.

We also would love for you to email us pictures of any family or friends that are veterans in order for us to include them in our video. Please send any pictures to jmartin@coppellisd.com by noon on Wednesday, November 10th.

TCE Yearbooks for Sale

Our Town Center Yearbooks are currently on sale for $25. Our Trail Pass this year did not include the cost of a yearbook, so if you have not had a chance to order yours, visit YBPAY.COM and use the code 14305222.

Free Lunch:

The free lunch consists of a full meal - entree, milk / juice, fruits and veggies.  Other items, such as "seconds," chips, snacks, ice cream, and bottled water are NOT part of the free lunch program and will be charged. For more information, please click here or contact Ms. Star at eprimera@coppellisd.com

Homework and Extra Practice

At this time, we will not be assigning any homework. If you are looking for extra practice or resources, we would always encourage students to read at home! (Kids are more motivated to read when they are reading books they've chosen and find interesting.) In addition, students have access to online resources such as iStation, Raz Kids. For math, we would love for students to login to Dreambox or ReflexMath at home and complete lessons.
