In ELAR, we are getting close to finishing our novel The Tiger Rising. We have enjoyed getting to know all the special characters in this story as we apply all the reading strategies  we are learning such as character traits, plot and summarizing. We will continue to focus on summarizing and point of view this week.

In spelling we will be looking at words with the Vowel constant e pattern (Vce). In grammar we will continue to review parts of speech.

In writing, we will continue our narrative fiction writing piece. We will focus on plotting out our story line ( plot)  and hooking the reader.

Attendance

Background Checks

We ask that all families complete a volunteer background check at the start of the year. They do not carry over from year to year. Since the background checks take time to process, we ask that everyone complete one in case any type of volunteering opportunity (class field trip, Dad's Club, Room parent, class volunteer, field day, etc.) arises during the year that you are interested in. Please click on the link below to complete it.
