Language Arts and Social Studies

In Reading- Students will be able to recognize the mood, metaphors, setting and word choice in poetry.

In Writing: Students will continue writing poems based on a class theme.

In Grammar and Spelling: Grammar: Compound sentences with conjunctions
Spelling: Final long e (ie: turkey, valley etc.)

In Social Studies:
Students will understand the key figures from The Battle of the Alamo

Math

In math this week and next week, we will continue our geometry unit! Over the next few weeks, students will explore angles and symmetry. They’ll learn how to draw, measure, and compare angles; use known angles to find unknown ones; and identify and create lines of symmetry in two-dimensional shapes. Students will also use benchmark angles to recognize acute, right, and obtuse triangles.

Science
In Science this week and next week, we will collect and analyze data to identify sequences in the appearance of the Moon from Earth and predict changes in the appearance of the Moon from Earth.

Hats and Toys

Our classrooms are a place for learning, growing, and having fun with friends. To help everyone stay focused, we ask that hats and toys stay at home. That way, our classrooms can be distraction-free, and we can all enjoy our time together while learning new things.

Tennis Shoes for PE & Extended Specials Day (CTT)

Please help ensure your child wears appropriate shoes on PE days and Move & Groove (Fridays). Additionally, every other Wednesday, the 4th grade has extended specials during CTT. The dates are outlined for the remainder of 2025 below. Thank you for your help in making sure your child is safely dressed for the gym!
