Language Arts and Social Studies

In Reading, we will finish up our Spiral Review before the STAAR. We know the kids will do amazing and show all they know and use those strategies on Thursday when we take the Reading STAAR.

On Friday we will have our Camp Read A-Lot where the kids can bring fun things to make it a fun reading day in reading class!

In Social Studies, we will learn about the Rail Road and the impact it had on Texas.

Math

In Math this week, we will continue to:

Identify relative sizes of measurement units within the customary and metric system
Convert measurements within the same measurement system, customary or metric, from a smaller unit into a larger unit or a larger unit into a smaller unit when given other equivalent measures represented in a table
Solve problems that deal with measurements of length, intervals of time, liquid volumes, mass, and money using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division as appropriate

Next week in Math, we will:

Represent data on a frequency table, dot plot, or stem‐and‐leaf plot marked with whole numbers and fractions
Solve one‐ and two‐step problems using data in whole number, decimal, and fraction form in a frequency table, dot plot, or stem‐and‐leaf plot

In Science this week, we will:

Investigate and explain how most producers can make their own food using sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide through the cycling of matter

In Science next week, we will:

describe the cycling of matter and flow of energy through food webs, including the roles of the Sun, producers, consumers, and decomposers

Hats and Toys

Our classrooms are a place for learning, growing, and having fun with friends. To help everyone stay focused, we ask that hats and toys stay at home. That way, our classrooms can be distraction-free, and we can all enjoy our time together while learning new things.

Tennis Shoes for PE & Extended Specials Day (CTT)

Please help ensure your child wears appropriate shoes on PE days and Move & Groove (Fridays). Additionally, every other Wednesday, the 4th grade has extended specials during CTT. The dates are outlined for the remainder of 2025 below. Thank you for your help in making sure your child is safely dressed for the gym!
